The Whitney Wildcats basketball team scored 61 points and held the visiting Keene Chargers to 42 in the Wildcats league triumph on Friday.

The Wildcats now sport a 20-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Grandview for a 3A Region III District 17 contest on Tuesday, February 7. Whitney will battle a Zebras team coming off a 43-42 league loss to Maypearl (Maypearl, TX). The Zebras record now stands at 18-12.

The Chargers (22-8) will now prepare for their contest against West (West, TX). The Trojans enter the 3A Region III District 17 bout with a 4-21 record. In their last bout, West was knocked off by Clifton (Clifton, TX), 54-49, in a league bout.
