South Paulding Spartans (Douglasville, GA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting New Manchester Jaguar (Douglasville, GA), 58-52 in a league bout.

With the victory, South Paulding upgrades its record to 18-6 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Newnan (Newnan, GA) to play the Cougars in a AAAAAA Region 5 bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Cougars come into the bout with a record of 13-11. Newnan lost 70-53 in their recent league bout against Paulding County (Dallas, GA)

Next up, the Jaguar play the Paulding County Patriots (Dallas, GA) in a AAAAAA Region 5 bout, on Tuesday, February 7. New Manchester will attempt to upgrade on its 9-14 season record. The Patriots come into the bout with a 14-10 record after their 70-53 league win over Newnan (Newnan, GA).
