Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Fitzgerald Purple Hurricane (Fitzgerald, GA) and the host Berrien Rebels (Nashville, GA), saw Fitzgerald's basketball squad knock off Berrien by a count of 73-57.

With the victory, Fitzgerald upgrades its record to 13-8 on the campaign. The Purple Hurricane host Dodge County (Eastman, GA) to play the Indians in a AA Region 1 challenge on Saturday, February 4. The Indians come into the challenge with a record of 19-1. Dodge County won 78-34 in their recent league challenge against Cook (Adel, GA)

Next up, the Rebels play the Sumter County Panthers (Americus, GA) in a AA Region 1 challenge, on Saturday, February 4. Berrien will attempt to upgrade on its 16-6 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 3-17 record after their 70-24 non-league loss to Tift County (Tifton, GA).
