In Friday's league outing, the Canyon Cougars (New Braunfels, TX) basketball squad beat the visiting Seguin Matadors (Seguin, TX), by a count of 35-21.

The Cougars (11-19) will now prepare for their outing against Wagner (San Antonio, TX). The Thunderbirds go into the 5A Region IV District 26 outing with a 23-4 record. In their last outing, Wagner defeated Tivy (Kerrville, TX), 69-34, in a league outing.

The Matadors now hold a 10-26 record. They play next when they host Boerne-Champion for a 5A Region IV District 26 outing on Tuesday, February 7. Seguin will clash with a Chargers squad coming off a 46-35 league win over Smithson Valley (Spring Branch, TX). The Chargers record now stands at 27-6.
