Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Chowchilla Tribe (Chowchilla, CA) and the host Minarets Mustangs (O'Neals, CA), saw Chowchilla's basketball squad hold off Minarets by a tally of 33-31.

With the victory, Chowchilla improves its record to 4-19 on the campaign. The Tribe host Sierra (Tollhouse, CA) to confront the Chieftains in a Northwest Sequoia challenge on Tuesday, February 7. The Chieftains come into the challenge with a record of 22-3. Sierra won 86-21 in their recent league challenge against Yosemite (Oakhurst, CA)

Next up, the Mustangs confront the Liberty Hawks (Madera, CA) in a Northwest Sequoia challenge, on Tuesday, February 7. Minarets will attempt to improve on its 9-16 season record. The Hawks come into the challenge with a 3-17 record after their 28-24 league loss to Riverdale (Riverdale, CA).
