The Clayton Comets (Clayton, NC) basketball nipped the host Garner Trojans (Garner, NC), 38-31 in Friday's league test.
The Comets (16-7) will now prepare for their test against Willow Spring (Fuquay-Varina, NC). The Storm go into the 4A Conference 26 test with a 20-2 record. In their last test, Willow Spring got by Corinth Holders (Wendell, NC), 61-40, in a league test.
The Trojans now own a 6-12 record. They play next when they travel to Corinth Holders for a 4A Conference 26 test on Tuesday, February 7. Garner will encounter a Pirates squad coming off a 61-40 league loss to Willow Spring (Fuquay-Varina, NC). The Pirates record now stands at 16-5.
