Texas High School Basketball - Socorro knocked off by Coronado

The Coronado Thunderbirds basketball team scored 53 points and held the visiting Socorro Bulldogs to 35 in the Thunderbirds league triumph on Friday.
The Thunderbirds now sport a 13-12 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Montwood for a 6A Region I District 1 contest on Tuesday, February 7. Coronado will battle a Rams team coming off a 59-36 league loss to El Dorado (El Paso, TX). The Rams record now stands at 10-20.
The Bulldogs (8-20) will now prepare for their contest against Americas (El Paso, TX). The Trail Blazers enter the 6A Region I District 1 contest with a 16-16 record. In their last contest, Americas ran past Coronado (El Paso, TX), 32-15, in a league contest.
