The Highland Park Hornets basketball team (Amarillo, TX), was overwhelmed 68-26 in Friday's league battle with the visiting Panhandle Panthers (Panhandle, TX)
The Panthers now possess a 16-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Bovina for a 2A Region I District 3 battle on Tuesday, February 7. Panhandle will confront a Mustangs team coming off a 70-56 league loss to Vega (Vega, TX). The Mustangs record now stands at 4-11.
The Hornets (3-18) will now prepare for their battle against Boys Ranch (Boys Ranch, TX). The Roughriders come into the 2A Region I District 3 battle with a 6-14 record. In their last battle, Boys Ranch was overwhelmed by Farwell (Farwell, TX), 72-23, in a league battle.
