Romeoville Spartans (Romeoville, IL) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Joliet Central Steelmen (Joliet, IL), 57-40 in a league bout.

With the win, Romeoville upgrades its record to 16-13 on the season. The Spartans host Plainfield Central (Plainfield, IL) to clash with the Wildcats in a SouthWest Prairie - East bout on Wednesday, February 8. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 7-19. Plainfield Central lost 52-48 in their recent league bout against Plainfield South (Plainfield, IL)

Next up, the Steelmen clash with the Stagg Chargers (Palos Hills, IL) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, February 4. Joliet Central will attempt to upgrade on its 10-17 season record. The Chargers go into the bout with a 13-16 record after their 55-26 league loss to Lincoln-Way Central (New Lenox, IL).
