South Laurel Cardinals (London, KY) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Whitley County Colonels (Williamsburg, KY), 71-31 in a league bout.

With the win, South Laurel upgrades its record to 14-9 on the season. The Cardinals host Jackson County (McKee, KY) to play the Generals in a non-league bout on Monday, February 6. The Generals go into the bout with a record of 10-6. Jackson County lost 55-47 in their recent league bout against North Laurel (London, KY)

Next up, the Colonels play the Somerset Briar Jumpers (Somerset, KY) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, February 4. Whitley County will attempt to upgrade on its 5-11 season record. The Briar Jumpers go into the bout with a 12-9 record after their 36-29 non-league loss to Southwestern (Somerset, KY).
