The Giles Spartans (Pearisburg, VA) basketball nudged the visiting Galax Maroon Tide (Galax, VA), 1-0 in Friday's non-league contest.
The Spartans now sport a 9-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Grayson County for a non-league contest on Wednesday, February 8.
The Maroon Tide (6-12) will now prepare for their contest against Chilhowie (Chilhowie, VA). The Warriors enter the non-league contest with a 17-1 record. In their last contest, Chilhowie nudged Patrick Henry (Glade Spring, VA), 59-37, in a non-league contest.
