Fans at Saturday's league challenge between the Seaside Spartans (Seaside, CA) and the visiting Stevenson Pirates (Pebble Beach, CA), saw Seaside's basketball squad hold off Stevenson by a count of 39-36.

With the victory, Seaside upgrades its record to 9-12 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Carmel (Carmel, CA) to play the Padres in a PCAL - Mission challenge on Wednesday, February 7. The Padres come into the challenge with a record of 1-20. Carmel lost 61-29 in their recent league challenge against Greenfield (Greenfield, CA)

Next up, the Pirates play the Soledad Aztecs (Soledad, CA) in a PCAL - Mission challenge, on Monday, February 5. Stevenson will attempt to upgrade on its 4-15 season record. The Aztecs come into the challenge with a 14-6 record after their 48-20 league win over Carmel (Carmel, CA).
