The crowd at Monday's non-league challenge between the Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy Gryphons (Mooresboro, NC) and the host Lake Lure Classical Academy Raptors (Lake Lure, NC), observed Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy's basketball team overwhelm Lake Lure Classical Academy by a score of 72-28.
The Gryphons (15-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Highland Tech (Gastonia, NC). The Rams come into the 1A/2A Southern Piedmont challenge with a 9-10 record. In their last challenge, Highland Tech was routed by Shelby (Shelby, NC), 59-57, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Raptors encounter the Asheville Trailblazers Trailblazers (Asheville, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, February 4. Lake Lure Classical Academy will attempt to improve on its 11-10 season record. The Trailblazers come into the challenge with a 2-9 record after their 52-33 non-league win over Invest Collegiate Imagine (Asheville, NC).
