In Monday's league test, the Cross County Thunderbirds (Cherry Valley, AR) basketball squad defeated the visiting Piggott Mohawks (Piggott, AR), by a score of 44-29.

Next, the Thunderbirds clash with the East Poinsett County Warriors (Lepanto, AR) in a 2A Region 3 test, on Tuesday, February 4. Cross County will attempt to improve on its 11-16 season record. The Warriors come into the test with a 17-9 record after their 67-50 non-league loss to Izard County (Brockwell, AR).

The Mohawks (7-10) will now prepare for their test against Corning (Corning, AR). The Bobcats come into the 2A Region 3 test with a 3-18 record.
