Virginia High School Basketball - Alleghany trounces Covington

The Alleghany Mountaineers (Covington, VA) basketball crushed the visiting Covington Cougars (Covington, VA), 80-50 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Mountaineers (10-12) will now prepare for their test against Lord Botetourt (Daleville, VA). The Cavaliers go into the non-league test with a 12-9 record. In their last test, Lord Botetourt was trounced by Patrick Henry (Roanoke, VA), 76-44, in a non-league test.
The Cougars now own a 9-7 record. They play next when they host Craig County for a Pioneer test on Monday, February 6. Covington will encounter a Rockets squad coming off a 59-49 non-league loss to Montcalm (Montcalm, WV). The Rockets record now stands at 3-16.
