Texas High School Basketball - Westlake topped by Austin

The Austin Maroons basketball team scored 70 points and restricted the host Westlake Chaparrals to 50 in the Maroons league victory on Tuesday.

The Maroons now sport a 12-14 record. They put it on the line next when they host Lake Travis for a 6A Region IV District 26 contest on Friday, February 3. Austin will battle a Cavaliers team coming off a 43-37 league loss to Anderson (Austin, TX). The Cavaliers record now stands at 22-6.

The Chaparrals (26-5) will now prepare for their contest against Bowie (Austin, TX). The Bulldogs come into the 6A Region IV District 26 contest with a 15-10 record. In their last contest, Bowie was defeated by Johnson (Buda, TX), 44-42, in a league contest.
