McKinney Lions (McKinney, TX) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Boyd Broncos (McKinney, TX), 73-64 in a league bout.

With the win, McKinney upgrades its record to 19-12 on the season. The Lions host Prosper (Prosper, TX) to play the Eagles in a 6A Region I District 5 bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 14-16. Prosper lost 49-37 in their recent league bout against Braswell (Little Elm, TX)

Next up, the Broncos play the Guyer Wildcats (Denton, TX) in a 6A Region I District 5 bout, on Tuesday, February 7. Boyd will attempt to upgrade on its 19-10 season record. The Wildcats go into the bout with a 20-11 record after their 56-53 league win over McKinney (McKinney, TX).
