North Carolina High School Basketball - Starmount holds off Elkin

February 4, 2025: Elkin, NC 28621

The Starmount Rams basketball squad scored 43 points and held the host Elkin Buckin' Elks to 41 in the Rams league victory on Tuesday.

With the victory, Starmount upgrades its record to 3-18 on the year. The Rams travel to South Stokes (Walnut Cove, NC) to face the Sauras in a 1A Northwest match on Friday, February 7. The Sauras enter the match with a record of 19-2. South Stokes won 51-47 in their recent non-league match against Reagan (Pfafftown, NC)

The Buckin' Elks now sport a 9-12 record. They put it on the line next when they host Alleghany for a 1A Northwest match on Friday, February 7. Elkin will face a Trojans squad coming off a 65-56 league win over East Wilkes (Ronda, NC). The Trojans record now stands at 11-9.
