The Capitan Tigers basketball team scored 40 points and limited the visiting Cloudcroft Bears to 33 in the Tigers league triumph on Tuesday.

The Tigers now possess a 7-13 record. They play next when they travel to Lordsburg for a 2A District 3 game on Saturday, February 8. Capitan will confront a Mavericks team coming off a 43-37 league loss to Mesilla Valley Christian School (Las Cruces, NM). The Mavericks record now stands at 10-9.

With the loss, Cloudcroft falls to 7-14 on the campaign. The Bears host Mescalero Apache (Mescalero, NM) to confront the Chiefs in a 2A District 3 game on Saturday, February 8. The Chiefs go into the game with a record of 12-9. Mescalero Apache won 50-38 in their recent league game against Mesilla Valley Christian School (Las Cruces, NM)
