The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the Mescalero Apache Chiefs (Mescalero, NM) and the visiting Mesilla Valley Christian School SonBlazers (Las Cruces, NM), observed Mescalero Apache's basketball team knock off Mesilla Valley Christian School by a score of 50-38.

The Chiefs (12-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Cloudcroft (Cloudcroft, NM). The Bears come into the 2A District 3 challenge with a 7-14 record. In their last game, Cloudcroft was beaten by Capitan (Capitan, NM), 40-33, in a league game.

With the loss, Mesilla Valley Christian School falls to 13-3 on the campaign. The Sonblazers host Lordsburg (Lordsburg, NM) to play the Mavericks in a 2A District 3 game on Thursday, February 6. The Mavericks go into the game with a record of 10-8. Lordsburg won 64-46 in their recent league game against Mescalero Apache (Mescalero, NM)
