The Pirates (6-1) will now prepare for their outing against Amarillo (Amarillo, TX). The Sandies go into the 5A Region 1 District 3 outing with a 9-1 record. In their last outing, Amarillo Monterey (Lubbock, TX), 1-1, in a league outing.

Next up, the Plainsmen play the Palo Duro Dons (Amarillo, TX) in a 5A Region 1 District 3 outing, on Friday, February 7. Monterey will attempt to improve on its 5-3 season record. The Dons go into the outing with a 5-5 record after their 4-0 league loss to Tascosa (Amarillo, TX).
