Central Cougars (West Helena, AR) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Pangburn Tigers (Pangburn, AR), 60-50 in a league bout.

With the win, Central upgrades its record to 10-16 on the season. The Cougars host Marvell (Marvell, AR) to play the Mustangs in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 8-9. Marvell lost 48-45 in their recent league bout against Augusta (Augusta, AR)

Next up, the Tigers play the Calico Rock Pirates (Calico Rock, AR) in a 1A Region 2 bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Pangburn will attempt to upgrade on its 15-16 season record. The Pirates go into the bout with a 2-27 record after their 65-39 non-league loss to White County Central (Judsonia, AR).
