Serra Catholic Eagles (McKeesport, PA) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Winchester Thurston (Pittsburgh, PA), 63-62 in a league bout.

With the win, Serra Catholic upgrades its record to 16-4 on the season. The Eagles travel to Bishop Canevin (Pittsburgh, PA) to play the Crusaders in a non-league bout on Wednesday, February 7. The Crusaders go into the bout with a record of 6-12. Bishop Canevin won 54-47 in their recent league bout against Aquinas Academy (Gibsonia, PA)

Next up, the play the Clairton Bears (Clairton, PA) in a WPIAL 2A 3 bout, on Friday, February 9. Winchester Thurston will attempt to upgrade on its 8-9 season record. The Bears go into the bout with a 15-4 record after their 77-36 league loss to Greensburg Central Catholic (Greensburg, PA).
