North Carolina High School Basketball - Lee County nips Union Pines

February 5, 2025: Sanford, NC 27330

The crowd at Wednesday's league challenge between the Lee County Yellow Jackets (Sanford, NC) and the visiting Union Pines Vikings (Cameron, NC), observed Lee County's basketball team edge Union Pines by a margin of 54-53.

The Yellow Jackets (10-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Richmond (Rockingham, NC). The Raiders come into the 3A/4A Sandhills challenge with a 12-7 record. In their last challenge, Richmond edged Union Pines (Cameron, NC), 86-65, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Vikings battle the Hoke County Bucks (Raeford, NC) in a 3A/4A Sandhills challenge, on Friday, February 7. Union Pines will attempt to better on its 12-9 season record. The Bucks come into the challenge with a 7-13 record after their 56-47 league loss to Southern Lee (Sanford, NC).
