Gordon Longhorns (Gordon, TX) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Lingleville Cardinals (Lingleville, TX), 50-47 in a league bout.

With the victory, Gordon upgrades its record to 18-9 on the campaign. The Longhorns travel to Strawn (Strawn, TX) to play the Greyhounds in a 1A Region III District 19 bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Greyhounds come into the bout with a record of 1-7.

Next up, the Cardinals play the Huckabay Indians (Stephenville, TX) in a 1A Region III District 19 bout, on Tuesday, February 7. Lingleville will attempt to upgrade on its 14-9 season record. The Indians come into the bout with a 24-5 record after their 68-30 league win over Gorman (Gorman, TX).
