Raymondville Bearkats (Raymondville, TX) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Grulla Gators (Rio Grande City, TX), 48-47 in a league bout.

With the win, Raymondville upgrades its record to 15-17 on the season. The Bearkats travel to Hidalgo (Hidalgo, TX) to play the Pirates in a 4A Region IV District 32 bout on Friday, February 10. The Pirates go into the bout with a record of 10-17. Hidalgo lost 48-32 in their recent league bout against Zapata (Zapata, TX)

Next up, the Gators play the Jubilee Brownsville Titans (Brownsville, TX) in a 4A Region IV District 32 bout, on Friday, February 10. Grulla will attempt to upgrade on its 8-16 season record. The Titans go into the bout with a 9-11 record after their 102-22 league win over Harmony School of Innovation (Brownsville, TX).
