Apollo Eagles (Owensboro, KY) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Hancock County Hornets (Lewisport, KY), 39-37 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Apollo upgrades its record to 13-11 on the season. The Eagles host Daviess County (Owensboro, KY) to play the Panthers in a District 9 bout on Friday, February 9. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 19-5. Daviess County lost 69-64 in their recent non-league bout against Greenwood (Bowling Green, KY)

Next up, the Hornets play the Breckinridge County Fighting Tigers (Harned, KY) in a District 11 bout, on Friday, February 9. Hancock County will attempt to upgrade on its 8-12 season record. The Fighting Tigers go into the bout with a 11-10 record after their 87-80 league win over South Spencer (Rockport, IN).
