The Garden City Bearkats basketball team scored 49 points and restricted the visiting Bronte Longhorns to 17 in the Bearkats league victory on Tuesday.

The Bearkats now sport a 15-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Robert Lee for a 1A Region II District 11 contest on Friday, February 9. Garden City will battle a Steers team coming off a 57-14 league win over Blackwell (Blackwell, TX). The Steers record now stands at 23-7.

The Longhorns (7-21) will now prepare for their contest against Veribest (Veribest, TX). The Falcons come into the 1A Region II District 11 contest with a 15-17 record. In their last contest, Veribest was routed by Irion County (Mertzon, TX), 55-36, in a league contest.
