Deer Creek-Mackinaw Chiefs (Mackinaw, IL) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Ridgeview Mustangs (Colfax, IL), 52-40 in a league bout.

With the win, Deer Creek-Mackinaw upgrades its record to 8-19 on the season. The Chiefs travel to El Paso-Gridley (El Paso, IL) to clash with the Titans in a Heart of Illinois bout on Friday, February 9. The Titans go into the bout with a record of 21-5. El Paso-Gridley won 59-53 in their recent league bout against Lexington (Lexington, IL)

Next up, the Mustangs clash with the Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Falcons (Gibson City, IL) in a Heart of Illinois bout, on Wednesday, February 7. Ridgeview will attempt to upgrade on its 10-15 season record. The Falcons go into the bout with a 17-9 record after their 50-41 league win over LeRoy (LeRoy, IL).
