In Tuesday's league outing, the Monte Vista Monarchs (Spring Valley, CA) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting El Cajon Valley Braves (El Cajon, CA), by a count of 73-42.

The Monarchs (19-8) will now prepare for their outing against El Capitan (Lakeside, CA). The Vaqueros come into the Grossmont - Hills challenge with a 20-7 record. In their last challenge, El Capitan bounced Grossmont (El Cajon, CA), 58-46, in a league challenge.

Next up, the Braves play the Mount Miguel Matadors (Spring Valley, CA) in a Grossmont - Hills challenge, on Friday, February 9. El Cajon Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 14-13 season record. The Matadors come into the challenge with a 18-8 record after their 72-53 league win over Santana (Santee, CA).
