Mount Vernon Tigers (Mount Vernon, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Harmony Eagles (Big Sandy, TX), 56-48 in a league bout.

With the win, Mount Vernon upgrades its record to 10-12 on the season. The Tigers host Winona (Winona, TX) to play the Wildcats in a 3A Region II District 13 bout on Friday, February 9. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 4-21. Winona lost 71-43 in their recent league bout against Harmony (Big Sandy, TX)

Next up, the Eagles play the Winnsboro Raiders (Winnsboro, TX) in a 3A Region II District 13 bout, on Friday, February 9. Harmony will attempt to upgrade on its 12-11 season record.
