Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Walker Valley Mustangs (Cleveland, TN) and the visiting McMinn County Cherokees (Athens, TN), saw Walker Valley's basketball squad wallop McMinn County by a tally of 88-54.

With the victory, Walker Valley improves its record to 17-9 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to William Blount (Maryville, TN) to play the Governors in a non-league challenge on Friday, February 9. The Governors come into the challenge with a record of 19-9. William Blount won 58-56 in their recent league challenge against Bearden (Knoxville, TN)

Next up, the Cherokees play the Rhea County Golden Eagles (Evensville, TN) in a 4A District 5 challenge, on Thursday, February 8. McMinn County will attempt to improve on its 9-12 season record. The Golden Eagles come into the challenge with a 25-5 record after their 77-51 non-league win over Loudon (Loudon, TN).
