Northwest Halifax Vikings (Littleton, NC) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Rocky Mount Prep Jaguars (Rocky Mount, NC), 53-9 in a league bout.

With the victory, Northwest Halifax upgrades its record to 15-4 on the campaign. The Vikings travel to North Edgecombe (Tarboro, NC) to play the Warriors in a 1A Tar Roanoke bout on Friday, February 9. The Warriors come into the bout with a record of 12-7. North Edgecombe won 68-29 in their recent league bout against Southeast Halifax (Halifax, NC)

Next up, the Jaguars play the Weldon Chargers (Weldon, NC) in a 1A Tar Roanoke bout, on Wednesday, February 7. Rocky Mount Prep will attempt to upgrade on its 3-11 season record. The Chargers come into the bout with a 8-5 record after their 57-29 league loss to Northampton County (Gaston, NC).
