South-Doyle Cherokees (Knoxville, TN) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Sequoyah Chiefs (Madisonville, TN), 43-37 in a league bout.

With the win, South-Doyle upgrades its record to 9-14 on the season. The Cherokees host Powell (Powell, TN) to play the Panthers in a non-league bout on Thursday, February 8. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 13-12. Powell won 59-51 in their recent non-league bout against Halls (Knoxville, TN)

Next up, the Chiefs play the Tellico Plains Bears (Tellico Plains, TN) in a non-league bout, on Friday, February 9. Sequoyah will attempt to upgrade on its 3-8 season record. The Bears go into the bout with a 12-6 record after their 62-32 league win over Sweetwater (Sweetwater, TN).
