The Wayne County War Eagles basketball team scored 51 points and limited the visiting Gautier Gators to 43 in the War Eagles league triumph on Thursday.

The War Eagles now possess a 14-13 record. They play next when they travel to Laurel for a 5A Region 4 game on Friday, February 7. Wayne County will confront a Golden Tornadoes team coming off a 72-54 league win over Stone (Wiggins, MS). The Golden Tornadoes record now stands at 21-7.

With the loss, Gautier falls to 16-14 on the campaign. The Gators host Stone (Wiggins, MS) to confront the Tomcats in a 5A Region 4 game on Friday, February 7. The Tomcats go into the game with a record of 12-13. Stone won 76-39 in their recent non-league game against Vancleave (Vancleave, MS)
