The crowd at Thursday's league challenge between the Rector Cougars (Rector, AR) and the host Piggott Mohawks (Piggott, AR), observed Rector's basketball team overcome Piggott by a score of 65-52.

The Cougars (15-11) will now prepare for their challenge against East Poinsett County (Lepanto, AR). The Warriors come into the 2A Region 3 challenge with a 18-5 record. In their last challenge, East Poinsett County defeated Cross County (Cherry Valley, AR), 74-43, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Mohawks battle the Hoxie Mustangs (Hoxie, AR) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, February 11. Piggott will attempt to improve on its 1-16 season record. The Mustangs go into the bout with a 1-15 record after their 64-34 league loss to Harrisburg (Harrisburg, AR).
