North Carolina High School Basketball - Hibriten can't hold off Alexander Central

The Alexander Central Cougars basketball team scored 55 points and restricted the visiting Hibriten Panthers to 53 in the Cougars league victory on Tuesday.
The Cougars now sport a 16-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Freedom for a 3A/4A Conference 52 contest on Friday, February 10. Alexander Central will battle a Patriots team coming off a 64-62 league win over Watauga (Boone, NC). The Patriots record now stands at 18-4.
The Panthers (9-14) will now prepare for their contest against South Caldwell (Hudson, NC). The Spartans come into the 3A/4A Conference 52 contest with a 10-13 record. In their last contest, South Caldwell was nudged by Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC), 67-52, in a league contest.
