Aquilla Cougars (Aquilla, TX) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Oglesby Tigers (Oglesby, TX), 48-41 in a league bout.

With the victory, Aquilla upgrades its record to 9-13 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Cranfills Gap (Cranfills Gap, TX) to play the Lions in a 1A Region IV District 25 bout on Friday, February 10. The Lions come into the bout with a record of 7-6. Cranfills Gap won 60-40 in their recent league bout against Gholson (Waco, TX)

Next up, the Tigers play the Jonesboro Eagles (Jonesboro, TX) in a 1A Region IV District 25 bout, on Friday, February 10. Oglesby will attempt to upgrade on its 5-4 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 9-9 record after their 77-39 league loss to Abbott (Abbott, TX).
