Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart Mustangs (Hector, MN) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Thunderbirds (Winthrop, MN), 74-56 in a league bout.

With the victory, Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart upgrades its record to 6-12 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to St. Mary's (Sleepy Eye, MN) to play the Knights in a A Section 2 bout on Thursday, February 9. The Knights come into the bout with a record of 12-5.

Next up, the Thunderbirds play the Springfield Tigers (Springfield, MN) in a A Section 2 bout, on Friday, February 10. Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop will attempt to upgrade on its 10-9 season record. The Tigers come into the bout with a 10-9 record after their 64-61 non-league loss to Westbrook-Walnut Grove (Westbrook, MN).
