The Hondo Valley Eagles basketball team scored 49 points and held the visiting Carrizozo Grizzlies to 32 in the Eagles league triumph on Tuesday.

The Eagles now sport a 2-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Corona/Vaughn for a A District 3 contest on Thursday, February 9. Hondo Valley will battle a team coming off a 55-21 league loss to Carrizozo (Carrizozo, NM). The record now stands at 0-9.

The Grizzlies (4-18) will now prepare for their contest against Mountainair (Mountainair, NM). The Mustangs enter the A District 3 contest with a 7-11 record. In their last contest, Mountainair was defeated by Alamo Navajo (Magdalena, NM), 75-39, in a league contest.
