Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Sands Mustangs (Ackerly, TX) and the visiting Dawson Dragons (Welch, TX), saw Sands's basketball squad wallop Dawson by a count of 74-10.

With the victory, Sands upgrades its record to 15-15 on the campaign. The Mustangs host Loop (Loop, TX) to play the Longhorns in a 1A Region I District 8 challenge on Friday, February 10. The Longhorns come into the challenge with a record of 6-15. Loop lost 57-39 in their recent league challenge against Klondike (Lamesa, TX)

Next up, the Dragons play the Loop Longhorns (Loop, TX) in a 1A Region I District 8 challenge, on Tuesday, February 14. Dawson will attempt to upgrade on its 2-14 season record. The Longhorns come into the challenge with a 6-16 record after their 75-25 league loss to Sands (Ackerly, TX).
