Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Mapletown knocked off by Monessen

The Monessen Greyhounds basketball team scored 61 points and held the visiting Mapletown Maples to 44 in the Greyhounds league triumph on Tuesday.
The Greyhounds now sport a 18-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host California for a WPIAL 1A 2 contest on Thursday, February 9. Monessen will meet a Trojans team coming off a 78-60 league loss to Geibel Catholic (Connellsville, PA). The Trojans record now stands at 6-14.
The Maples (8-11) will now prepare for their contest against Bentworth (Bentleyville, PA). The Bearcats enter the non-league contest with a 11-10 record. In their last contest, Bentworth ran past Bethlehem Center (Fredericktown, PA), 80-61, in a league contest.
