Moon Area Tigers (Moon Township, PA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting West Allegheny Indians (Imperial, PA), 54-45 in a league bout.

With the win, Moon Area upgrades its record to 11-9 on the season. The Tigers travel to Mars (Mars, PA) to play the Fightin' Planets in a WPIAL 5A 4 bout on Friday, February 10. The Fightin' Planets go into the bout with a record of 14-6. Mars won 79-77 in their recent league bout against Chartiers Valley (Bridgeville, PA)

Next up, the Indians play the South Fayette Lions (McDonald, PA) in a WPIAL 5A 4 bout, on Friday, February 10. West Allegheny will attempt to upgrade on its 8-12 season record. The Lions go into the bout with a 11-8 record after their 48-45 league win over North Hills (Pittsburgh, PA).
