The New Deal Lions (New Deal, TX) basketball crushed the visiting Sudan Hornets (Sudan, TX), 70-25 in Tuesday's league test.

The Lions (20-8) will now prepare for their test against Smyer (Smyer, TX). The Bobcats go into the 2A Region I District 4 test with a 6-23 record. In their last test, Smyer was trounced by Ralls (Ralls, TX), 52-42, in a league test.

The Hornets now own a 1-16 record. They play next when they travel to Lockney for a 2A Region I District 4 test on Friday, February 10. Sudan will encounter a Longhorns squad coming off a 57-52 league loss to Hale Center (Hale Center, TX). The Longhorns record now stands at 12-14.
