In Tuesday's league outing, the Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart Mustangs (Hector, MN) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Thunderbirds (Winthrop, MN), by a count of 54-32.

The Mustangs (19-1) will now prepare for their outing against St. Mary's (Sleepy Eye, MN). The Knights go into the A Section 2 outing with a 15-4 record. In their last outing, St. Mary's smashed Minnesota Valley Lutheran (New Ulm, MN), 90-34, in a non-league outing.

The Thunderbirds now hold a 9-9 record. They play next when they travel to Springfield for a A Section 2 outing on Thursday, February 9. Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop will clash with a Tigers squad coming off a 48-42 league loss to New Ulm Cathedral (New Ulm, MN). The Tigers record now stands at 7-9.
