The Hondo Valley Eagles (Hondo, NM) basketball nipped the visiting Carrizozo Grizzlies (Carrizozo, NM), 29-28 in Tuesday's league test.
The Eagles (4-9) will now prepare for their test against Corona/Vaughn (Corona, NM). The go into the A District 3 test with a 9-4 record. In their last test, Corona/Vaughn got by Carrizozo (Carrizozo, NM), 52-18, in a league test.
The Grizzlies now own a 0-20 record. They play next when they host Mountainair for a A District 3 test on Friday, February 10. Carrizozo will encounter a Mustangs squad coming off a 75-39 league loss to Alamo Navajo (Magdalena, NM). The Mustangs record now stands at 3-13.
