Hatch Valley Bears (Hatch, NM) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Cobre Indians (Bayard, NM), 41-35 in a league bout.

With the victory, Hatch Valley upgrades its record to 3-18 on the campaign. The Bears travel to Socorro (Socorro, NM) to play the Warriors in a 3A District 3 bout on Thursday, February 9. The Warriors come into the bout with a record of 6-17. Socorro won 31-29 in their recent league bout against Hot Springs (Truth or Consequences, NM)

Next up, the Indians play the Hot Springs Tigers (Truth or Consequences, NM) in a 3A District 3 bout, on Friday, February 10. Cobre will attempt to upgrade on its 6-16 season record. The Tigers come into the bout with a 5-16 record after their 31-29 league loss to Socorro (Socorro, NM).
