The Watauga Pioneers basketball team (Boone, NC), was nudged 54-50 in Tuesday's league battle with the host Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC)

The Patriots now possess a 12-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Alexander Central for a non-league battle on Friday, February 10. Freedom will confront a Cougars team coming off a 46-31 non-league win over Hibriten (Lenoir, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 16-3.

The Pioneers (14-7) will now prepare for their battle against Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC). The Huskies come into the battle with a 8-12 record. In their last battle, Ashe County edged South Caldwell (Hudson, NC), 54-41, in a non-league battle.
