Virginia High School Basketball - Giles ripped by Galax

The Galax Maroon Tide basketball team scored 49 points and held the visiting Giles Spartans to 23 in the Maroon Tide league triumph on Wednesday.
The Maroon Tide now sport a 13-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Grayson County for a Mountain Empire contest on Friday, February 9. Galax will meet a Blue Devils team coming off a 64-40 league loss to Bland County (Rocky Gap, VA). The Blue Devils record now stands at 8-13.
The Spartans (4-15) will now prepare for their contest against Fort Chiswell (Max Meadows, VA). The Pioneers enter the Mountain Empire contest with a 18-4 record. In their last contest, Fort Chiswell triumphed over Grayson County (Independence, VA), 69-36, in a league contest.
