The Highlands Highlanders basketball team scored 44 points and held the visiting Murphy Bulldogs to 35 in the Highlanders non-league triumph on Wednesday.

The Highlanders now sport a 6-15 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Blue Ridge Early College for a 1A Little Smoky contest on Friday, February 9. Highlands will battle a Bobcats team coming off a 56-11 non-league loss to Robbinsville (Robbinsville, NC). The Bobcats record now stands at 1-19.

The Bulldogs (2-16) will now prepare for their contest against Cherokee (Cherokee, NC). The Braves enter the 1A Big Smoky contest with a 19-1 record. In their last contest, Cherokee ran past Hiwassee Dam (Murphy, NC), 98-32, in a non-league contest.
